Yesterday, Valeria and I dined at the Indian restaurant here in Udine:
it's amazing how many holidays the indians have: the name of any of these festivity could be a kigo... an Indian kigo!

Good days there'll be bad days...

where I am: home
mood: melancholy
music: Richard Butler; Good days, bad days

The great return of Richard Butler, the lead singer of The Psychedelic Furs ("Pretty in pink", "Heaven", "Here come cowboys", "The ghost in you", etc.). His solo album entitled "Richard Butler" released in 2006 is a collection of songs dedicated to his father: definitely recommended.

I want to unmake every bed that I laid down on
give back everything i've won
i want to unfly every crow
unwind every mile
undo everything i've done
good days there'll be bad days
good days there'll be bad days
i want to unread every book that my eyes laid on
unsay everything i've said
i want to unsing every song
unwrite every line
unstep every step i've made

good days there'll be bad days
good days there'll be bad days

i want to unsew every seam
unwind every clock
unbreathe every breath i've made
i want to unset every sun
that my eyes fell on
till i give back all i've won

good days there'll be bad days
good days there'll be bad days
good days there'll be bad days
...

Haiku Calendar Ludbreg (Croatia)

where I am: home sweet home
mood: giggly
music: Falco; Rock me Amadeus

Yesterday we received our copy of the Croatian anthology "Haiku Calendar - Rokovnik" (Ludbreg, 2009) with our haiku published in (but I am still envious of the gifts received by Valeria from Japan).

Just kidding. Some pics behind the cut.

where I am: home
mood: happy
music: Franco Battiato; Magic shop

I got a friend.
A friend who lives many miles away from me.
Yesterday, he dropped a line in my inbox.
He invited me to Leh.
I explained him that some problems hinder me to return in
India.

His answer was:

"...If everything goes as planned we will be in Italy for a couple of weeks in this September.Just keep this in mind and always " KEEP YOURSELF IN A POSITIVE STATE OF MIND" you will be as fit as a fiddle in no time, I am POSITIVE so, you should be too!"

Then, I wrote my first one-line poem:

~ travelling  with an old friend  into my past ~

Thank you Tashi! Julley!

Andrea: "Hallo?"
Patricia: "Hey, I am Pat!"

A: "Pat? What the hell! How is it going?"
P: "I'm fine, thanks!"

A:
"Are you still in Manchester
?"
P:  "Yes, I am with Dan…"
A: "Nice!"

P: "Andrea... I'm dying here!! There's a lot of snow outside… I was born in Brazil and not inured to cold so, I miss the warmth of Italy very much"

A: "Yeah, I understand... and of course I heard the latest news about the bad weather in England but, changing subject, something new about your marriage?"

P: "I am a Sagittarius, you know... I usually rack my brains trying to understand many things but, I play my part to the end anyway..."

A: "What?"
P: "Oh, nothing... "

I went to the award ceremony of the haiku-contest "Cascina Macondo" near Turin. It's been a nice day after all: I received my prizes (a NICE Raku bowl and a copy of the anthology of this year) and met some interesting people.
The atmosphere was relaxing...
